Avatar Director Brands Oscars ‘Racist’

HOLLYWOOD, CA – James Cameron, the acclaimed director responsible for ‘Titanic’ is reported to be fuming over the treatment of blue actors at the 2010 Oscars, branding the Academy as racist after his film Avatar missed out on several awards including Best Picture.

“This is ridiculous, if you’re blue you don’t win an Oscar.  Is that it?  I want to say more but frankly, I have to pee something fierce.”

Racial Profiling

Kathryn Bigelow – Cameron’s ex wife – took the Oscar for Best Picture though it is unclear whether she is entitled to half of Cameron’s three awards.  “I’m just not sure how we would split an Oscar…I think I’ll just let him keep those ones.”

Awards organisers refuted claims of racial discrimination, insisting that the fact the actors were blue did not come into consideration.

“I didn’t even notice they were blue, really” commented one Academy member who wished to be unnamed .

Cameron remained unconvinced however, saying “This is just a long line of insults against blue people, just look at he Smurfs.  Why isn’t it on TV anymore, huh?  Yeah, you know why.”  [Note: The Smurfs Creator died in 1992].

‘I’ve never been so insulted’

The Blue Man Group have been quick to support the director in his accusations.

“We saw the Oscars, it was a disgrace!  I thought we were over this kind of discrimination” said co-founder Phil Stanton “I thought we were making progress…that s–t was in 3D too.”

When suggested that Hurt Locker may have been the better film, praised for handling such a contemporary and delicate issue with a well thought out a brilliantly executed story, Cameron replied “Nah nah nah.  Don’t give me that.  They did the same thing to Denzel.”

“It was in 3D for crying out loud!  I guess coloured actors still can’t catch a break in Hollywood.”
